So let me tell you a little story. This week, my boyfriend and I decided to get ramen in Little Tokyo, and since I was going straight after work I didn’t want to go to dinner in my blazer. Instead I wanted to wear something just a little more comfortable. So I told him to bring me a sweater, preferably a cardigan. He ended up bringing me this preppy one, which I have always loved on him (that is probably why he brought if for me.) As soon as I put it on I fell in love. There is something about men’s cardigans that just fit so much better. If you are looking for the perfect oversized and slouchy fit, and you love that borrowed-from-the-boys kind of look, then I would highly suggest shopping in the mens section.

The next morning, I wanted to wear it to work because, like I said, I was in love. So I paired it over this dress, which I recently wrote a post on two different ways to wear it and now I have shown you three ways…. so basically if I haven’t convinced you that a striped shift dress is a must-have, well then I don’t know what will!

What types of things from the men section do you like to wear?

When I walked into Windsor, I’m pretty sure I saw a big flashing neon sign over this dress that said “Adry.” It’s my favorite print, plus I love its flowy and slightly retro silhouette. It is still a tad warm so I just paired it with booties and a super cute floppy hat. When it starts to get cold, I think this would look really cute with tights and a faux fur vest or cardigan!

I fell in love with this dress from Forever 21 because it had such a romantic and feminine feel to it. Since its leans more on the summer side, I wanted to style it for that awkward weather transition into fall. All it took was a slouchy beanie and booties with long socks. I plan on wearing this through winter as well, so make sure to subscribe or follow me on your favorite social channel to see how I style this in a couple months!

It takes a while for Fall to roll into Southern California, but that hasn’t stopped me from wearing my Fall outfits. I actually bought these pants and this top at TjMaxx (both under $25). Not only do I plan on wearing these two pieces throughout the season, but they are just so classic and timeless that I can keep them in my closet for years to come. I must note that I am obsessed with my blue nail polish! It is by Sally Hanson and if you want take a little risk on your nails, I highly suggest this color.

I look forward to showing you more ways to style these plaid pants! I think they are a great buy and you can find them pretty much anywhere! I went ahead and listed a few places above :)

Stripe Shift Dress: 2 Ways + Mixing Prints

Dress: Target (similar here and here ) , Outfit 1: Chambray Shirt (similar) & Bucket Bag: Target, (similar)  Hat: PacSun, Shoes: Sperry Top Sider via Nordstrom Rack, Outfit 2: Socks: H&M, Shoes: BP. Nordstrom, Clutch: Kate Spade

One of the reasons I started this blog was to show everyone how I get the most use out of my clothing. I think people would be surprised to see what little clothing I do own, but the trick is I will where one thing so many different ways that sometimes it appears like I have a lot of clothes. That’s not the case at all. In fact, most of what I do own was bought on sale or just at really affordable places.

I bought this dress at Target in the clearance section (which is by far my favorite sale rack to search regularly). It fits me really loose so I have to wear a belt or something to accentuate my waist. These are two ways I have worn this dress- one totally casual, and one slightly more dressed up. I hope you can draw some inspiration from this! Also, if you have a clothing item that you would like to get more use out of, let me know and maybe I can help!

Ps. Just wanted to highlight that in both outfits I am wearing different prints! I think this is something people tend to stray away from, but when working within the same color palette, mixing prints in one outfit is totally doable!
