School has been consuming so much of time lately that I didn’t have time to buy or even plan an outfit for my cousins Quinceanera this past weekend. Luckily, I had this dress that I bought at Forever 21 a few months back that I only wore once. Since the weather has been cooling down I was able to wear the dress with tights and simple black heels. I was surprised how appropriate this dress felt for fall considering I bought it when it was still summer. This goes to show that a dress in classic colors (black and white) can be worn year round depending on how you style it. I am also quite in love with my statement necklace from Cookie Lee. It gives any outfit that finishing touch of glam!
My best friends older sister got married last weekend, which kinda felt like my older sister was getting married. It was a beautiful backyard country wedding, a wedding that looked straight out of Pinterest. I wore this dress, which I bought a while back from one of my favorite boutiques in Downtown Brea, SUO. They carry pieces that are really unique and I feel like I am leaving with my own little gem every time I leave their store. I fell in love with this dress for various reasons, such as the coral color and beautiful lace detailing in the front. The loose sleeves and short length gave it a 60′s vibe that was different from any other dress I’ve worn before. I paired the dress with my new Appolina ShoeMint Heels. They were surprisingly comfortable for such tall heels which means I totally scored with these! I kept the hair and accessories very simple because I wanted the dress and shoes to be the main focus. Most importantly though, I had the pleasure of witnessing the start of a beautiful marriage. Congratulations Katie and Aaron!
I am finally a senior!! I can’t believe that in just nine short months I will be a college graduate. I’ve definitely been soaking up each day in order to truly embrace my last year as a student.
My style has definitely been evolving over time, each outfit seems to be a little more sophisticated, but also a bit daring. I am less opposed to taking fashion risks and I find it thrilling when I come up with an outfit that I would have never worn before. For example I paired this soft, chambray shirt dress with edgy, black boots. I think the contrast from the boots and the dress is unexpected but pleasing to the eye. I kept my accessories dark with a black purse and black and gold necklace. The necklace adds a touch of glam that stands out against the denim. I can’t wait to pair this dress with socks and boots for colder days in fall!

So here’s the story about my favorite dress. I went into a local boutique near my house looking for an Easter dress back in April and came out with two maxi dresses, this being one of them. Although I fell in love with the fit, color and fabric I just couldn’t get past the length because it made the dress a bit formal. So I took it to get altered and now I can say it is one of my favorite dresses! My friends and family have already seen me in it twice (for my brothers graduation and also his graduation party) which was slightly embarrassing but so worth it! I kept my accessories neutral with dark brown accents. My JewelMint earrings added a touch of elegance to the bohemian style of the dress. And when I am going for a more boho-chic look I like to curl my roots instead of the ends. It’s one of those outfits where you try and make your hair look messy. You know, the cute kind of messy.
When summer first started for me back in May I was determined to add some more shorts to my wardrobe. I basically had the essentials, a pair of white and blue denim shorts. I am pretty picky about the types of shorts I wear due to the fact that my waist size is smaller than my thigh size so finding a pair that fits me properly is always a challenge. I was thrilled when I found these printed ones at Charlotte Russe because they were on sale for $10! Not only are they a super cute print, but they are elastic and lose fitting so I was able to get my size and not worry about them being too tight. I bought another pair in a chevron pattern and I have worn both of them multiple times this summer.
Ever since I was little my summer uniform was shorts, a tank-top and flip flops. I am happy I was able to create an outfit using my usual outline, yet this time it’s more sophisticated and classy. In a future post I will show how I style my Charlotte Russe chevron printed shorts.
What’s your summer uniform?
For this years 4th of July nail tutorial I went for slightly different approach than last year. I was inspired by the nautical theme that this holiday has to offer, such as the red, white and blue color palette and stripe pattern. And of course, the 4th would not be complete without a little sparkle!
1. I used the following nail polishes: red-Lancome, blue-Kate Spade “Night On The Town”, white and top coat-Wet n Wild, gold- Gap “Champagne Wishes.” You will also need painters tape, scissors, a thin paint brush and a piece of paper.
2. Paint all your nails red, except for the ring finger which will be blue.
3. Cut a small piece of painters tape and use the straightest edge to create a diagonal line across the nail.
4. Paint the other half of the nail white and slowly remove the painters tape.
5. Dab a small amount of gold nail polish on a piece of paper and use the paintbrush to lightly trace a line where the blue and white meet.
And then you’re done! It’s super easy and you have a unique 4th of July nail design!
Take a picture of your mani using this tutorial and #adryonthedaily on Instagram or Twitter and I will display some of my favorites!
Oh my gosh! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to start blogging again. So much has happened since my last post. Here are just the highlights…
1. I turned 21! I celebrated with close friends and family which was absolute perfection.
2. I guess you can say I am now officially a senior in college. Umm, that’s crazy!
3. And get ready for this one… I am now a social media intern for BeachMint. This has been a dream of mine for almost two years. I fell in love with their company right away because they were innovative and worked with some of my favorite celebrities. Since I don’t go to a fashion school or a major university I knew I had to work hard to stand out as much as possible, and it turns out I didn’t need a fashion school or fancy college name to get the internship. I did exactly what people say… if you want something bad enough you have to work for it. And that’s exactly what I did.
Now let me talk about my outfit. I thought it was only appropriate to debut my new favorite shorts for my first post since my long hiatus. I had expressed in this post how badly I wanted polka-dot shorts and luckily I found these amazing Lauren Conrad shorts, on sale! It was pretty much meant to be. Although I have worn them casually I decided to dress them up with a buttoned down chambray and nude strappy heels. Then there is my laptop bag which has been ideal for my internship and not to mention school. It just adds that final touch to complete the outfit.
Shirt: Charlotte Russe / Jeans: PacSun / Belt, Watch, Clutch: Kate Spade/ Earings: Forever 21 / Boots: City Classified
This outfit is quite simple, just jeans and long sleeves shirt, but I feel with the right accessories it definitely gave it some life. One of my favorite color combinations is black and gold so I couldn’t resist adding gold jewelry and a belt with a gold buckle. I picked out a clutch that would add some color but wasn’t too harsh on the eye. My suede boots finish off the look perfectly by adding some height and dressing it up enough for a casual dinner with my cousin.
Here are a few more great black and gold combinations…
